VIGMA-Soloists

VIGMA-Soloists: Igor Ruhadze (violin), Vital Stahievitch (piano), Vitaly Vatulya (saxophone)

The trio was formed 3 years ago in Amsterdam. All 3 musicians graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and later received education in various European Conservatories (Conservatory of Amsterdam, Royal College of Music in London). Their successful cooperation in several programs determines the energy and spirit of this ensemble.

The program starts with the Trio by Russell Peterson, an accomplished classical/jazz saxophonist, bassoonist and composer. This piece consists of 4 movements, each one representing the style of a particular composer: Ravel, Maslanka, Beethoven, Shostakovich.

The "Cantinlène et dance" is written by an Algerian composer, Marc Eychenne (1933), and it is the most famous of his chamber music pieces. This glittering modern program finishes with the famous work of Boris Pigovat, the "Jewish wedding" (7:40). A Jewish composer born in the USSR, he now lives in Israel. As a multi-genre composer, he writes music for almost all instruments which is performed by the world’s most famous orchestras. This version of the "Jewish wedding" (7:40) for Violin, Saxophone and Piano was created especially for VIGMA Soloists.
